ANZAC Ceremony at Rossmoyne Senior High School

The Honorary Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany, Mr Torsten Ketelsen, attended the Rossmoyne Senior High School ANZAC Day Ceremony. The memorable service was conducted entirely by the students to mark the 50th Anniversary of the Battle of Long Tan, during the Vietnam War. The students shared their family stories from members that served during the Vietnam War and a performed a moving dance piece.

Mr Torsten Ketelsen, other guests, staff and students laid a floral wreath to pay tribute to the Australian Solidier’s who served during the Battle of Long Tran.


SAGSE Black and White Dance

The Society for Australian German Student Exchange (SAGSE) held the annual Black and White Dance at the Rhein-Donau Club on Saturday 1 April 2017.

The event provides an opportunity to, not only support future exchange students, but also hear about the adventures of returned students and be introduced to the newest awardees.

The fun filled evening was enjoyed by all with music by DJ Brian, performance by the Edelweisstanzgruppe and “Echo der Berge” and plenty of traditional German food.


TAGWA State Conference 2017

The Teachers Association of German in Western Australia (TAGWA) held their Annual State Conference at the Honorary German Consulate on Saturday 1 April 2017.

The conference was a great opportunity for teachers from primary, secondary and community schools as well as universities and other institutions to meet for an afternoon of learning, collaborating and networking. A very informative and beneficial opportunity for the sharing of best practice in the teaching and learning of the German Language.
